Sesi ve sessizliği araç edinen sanat biçimidir müzik. Bizler müzik sayesinde, birçok farklı kültürle tanışırız. Adetlerini hiç bilmediğimiz, insanlarıyla hiç tanışmadığımız ve sadece haritada ismini gördüğümüz birçok ülkenin öncelikle müziğini tanırız.
Birçok bilim adamı müzik için, evrimin keyfe keder, kendiliğinden ortaya çıkan bir yan ürün olduğunu düşünür.
Ben bugün sizlere İngiltere’de bulunan muhteşem bir müzik tasarımından bahsedeceğim. “Müzik Ağacı” rüzgar her estiğinde, borularından geçen rüzgarın etkisiyle melodi fısıldayan müzikal bir heykeldir.
“Şarkı Söyleyen Ağaç“ olarak da anılan bu eser, İngiltere‘deki Burnley kasabası yakınlarında yer alıyor. 2006 yılında tamamlanan, Ağaç ödüllü mimar Mike Tonkin ve Anna Liu tarafından dizayn edilmiş, çeşitli uzunlukta ve rüzgardan en iyi şekilde yararlanılacak şekilde, farklı açılarla yerleştirilmiş borulardan oluşmaktadır. Rüzgar bu boruların içinden geçerken, etrafa çeşitli notalardan sesler yayılıyor. Bu arada heykelin altına her oturduğunuzda boru şeklindeki yaprakların arasından esen rüzgarın gücü ile daha öncekinden farklı bir melodiler duymak mümkündür.
Zil Ağacı olarak da adlandırılır. Galvanizli çelik borulardan yapılmış 3 metre boyunda, rüzgar enerjisiyle çalışan müzikal heykel, şehir üzerinde yüksekte duruyor. Borular bir ağacın bükük dalları şeklinde durur, rüzgar aralarından geçtikçe melodik bir girdap oluşturur.
Kendi ses uzunluğuna göre değişebilen ve belirli bir borulara dar yarıklar eklenerek, şarkı söyleyen ağacın boruları, estetik niteliklerinin yanı sıra ayar için kullanılmaktadır. Bu çarpık metal borular tarafından üretilen ses birkaç oktavı kapsar. Otoritelerce uyumsuz, melankolik, yoğun fakat çok güzel olduğu söylenmektedir.
Görülmeye değer bu muhteşem eser, 2007 yılında, mimari mükemmelliğin eseri olduğundan İngiliz Mimarlar Kraliyet Enstitüsü (RIBA) Ulusal Ödülü’nü kazanmıştır. Ağustos 2015 ‘te Zil Ağacı 21. Yüzyılda Britanya’yı tanımlayan simgelerinden biri olarak da seçilmiştir.
Müziğin insanlar üzerinde eşsiz bir duygulanım yaratma ve etkileme gücü vardır. Farkında olalım ya da olmayalım müzik günlük yaşantımızın birçok alanında gücünü üzerimizde kullanır, bazen müziğin bir sözden çok daha etkili olduğunu fark ederiz. ‘’Şarkı Söyleyen Ağaç’’ heykeli de bunun kanıtıdır. Müzikle heykelin birleştiği bu eşsiz müzikal heykel dünya üzerinde mutlaka görülmesi gereken yerler listesine girmiştir.
